Workshop on Celebration of UN 16 Days of Activism with IBC women leaders
ETI Bangladesh and Mondiaal FNV jointly organized a workshop with the representatives of IndustriAll Bangladesh Council (IBC) Women Forum on 18 October 2022 at ETI Bangladesh conference room. The objective of the meeting was to explore joint activities to observe UN 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence from 25th November to 10th December 2022. Fifteen representatives from the forum attended this meeting and expressed their opinions.
Among others, Mr. Rashadul Alam Raju, General Secretary, IBC and Ms. China Rahman, General Secretary, Federation of Garment Workers (FGW) attended this workshop and spoke to the audience. They appreciated ETI and Mondiaal FNV’s roles in promotion of the workers right and requested for further collaboration.
The meeting ended with an agreement that IBC Women Forum will collaborate with Sustainable Textile Initiative: Together for Change (STITCH) consortium members in implementation of awareness raising campaign against gender-based violence at workplace. The activities will include holding a press conference marking the occasion, organizing consultation meetings with 15 associated federations of IBC and distribution of IEC materials (audio, video and posters of gender issues) to raise awareness on gender-based violence.
