Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Bangladesh held a factory-level online consultation webinar on 8 February 2026, engaging 207 participants from about 90 factories to discuss the Labour Law Amendment 2025 and preparations for International Women’s Day 2026.
The consultation brought together factory management and worker representatives from human resources, administration, compliance, welfare, and worker groups to review legal requirements related to gender equality, prevention of workplace harassment and violence, occupational safety and health, grievance mechanisms, and employer responsibilities under the amended law. Participants also sought clarification on workers’ benefits, compliance procedures, and the formation and functioning of Anti-Harassment Committees.
The session discussed the International Women’s Day 2026 theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls,” in relation to workplace responsibilities of employers and workers. Factories shared plans for observance, including rallies, seminars, discussion sessions, workplace announcements, poster displays, and worker recognition programmes.
The consultation formed part of ETI Bangladesh’s ongoing engagement with factories to strengthen implementation of labour law provisions, workplace rights, and social dialogue between management and workers.
