Gender Based Violence Platform meeting held at ETI Bangladesh office
A quarterly meeting of Gender Based Violence Platform held on 8 November 2022 at ETI Bangladesh office. A total of 15 participants from BRAC, ILO, GIZ, BSR, Christian Aid, Fair Wear Foundation and ETI participated in the meeting.
The discussion points of the meeting, among others, included the new amendments of Labour Rules, especially the issues of maternity benefits and Sexual Harassment Complaint Committee. The possibility of organizing a joint activity marking 16 Days of Activism was discussed and the participants were found interested in that. However, no final decision was made but it was decided that, if the joint activity is not possible, even then the platform will facilitate cross-learning among organizations through knowledge sharing and sharing of IEC materials, as appropriate, for befitting celebration of the occasion. GIZ proposed a meeting with brands to align multi-stakeholder activities. After discussion, participants suggested organizing that in early January 2023.
At the beginning of the meeting, ETI Country Manager Abil Bin Amin welcomed the participants.
