Workers in the Bangladesh RMG sector are often unaware of their workplace rights and responsibility and are not much organized to speak collectively to supervisors or managers about their concerns. The lack of good industrial relation (IR) is making the situation even difficult. The workers in the sector are mainly rural women with limited education which is making them particularly vulnerable. There prevails a clear gap between management and workers at the workplace. The absence of this mechanism of social dialogue (SD) was intended to be addressed by this programme.
