ETI Bangladesh held an online consultation meeting with the Worker-led Climate Action Network (Worker CAN) on 26 November 2025. The meeting continued work to support youth and women worker representatives as they take part in discussions on industrial decarbonisation and the shift to renewable energy in the RMG sector.
ETI Bangladesh introduced a Training Needs Assessment (TNA) tool. The team explained how the tool will guide the design of a training module based on Worker CAN’s priorities, experiences and identified gaps.
Members stressed the need to understand industrial decarbonisation and renewable energy. They also noted the need to build stronger advocacy skills for sectoral and national dialogue. Participants discussed how the training can support worker leaders to take part in ongoing conversations on the industry’s move towards renewable energy and decarbonisation.
Worker CAN members welcomed the chance to help shape the training plans. They noted the importance of supporting youth and women worker leaders as the RMG sector prepares for changes linked to renewable energy and decarbonisation.
This consultation is part of ETI Bangladesh’s initiative, “Promoting Just Transition & Environmental Sustainability in Bangladesh’s RMG Sector.” The initiative aims to build the capacity of worker leaders, especially youth and women, to engage in dialogue and support a just and resilient shift to industrial decarbonisation and renewable energy in the RMG sector.
