ETI Bangladesh and Fair Wear Foundation hosted a webinar on 15 October 2024, focused on enhancing suppliers’ voices in purchasing practices. 166 representatives from 96 factories registered for this event.
The webinar introduced the new cycle of the Better Buying Partnership Index (BBPI) survey, designed to assess buyer-supplier relationships across five key areas: visibility, stability, time, financials, and shared responsibility. The presentation, made by ETI Bangladesh's Programme Coordinator Nafiz Mahmud Ayon, detailed out different aspects of the survey including objectives, process, benefits, deadline etc. The presentation was followed by a question-answer session.
The survey is already open for participation and will remain open until 31 October 2024.
The webinar featured key insights from ETI Bangladesh's Country Manager, Abil Bin Amin, and Fair Wear Foundation's Country Manager, Bablur Rahman, who emphasized the need for open feedback from suppliers to improve overall purchasing practices. The BBPI survey, now in its fourth cycle, allows suppliers to anonymously evaluate their buyers’ practices in areas such as visibility, stability, and shared responsibility.
ETI and Fair Wear Foundation urged the participants to complete the survey within the specified timeframe.
