Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Bangladesh has started the Workplace Social Dialogue Programme and Gender Sensitive Workplace Programme across five factories in Bangladesh.
The programmes focus on worker-management dialogue, gender equality, workplace dignity and addressing harassment. Activities include training for workers, worker representatives, management, supervisors and Anti-Harassment Committee members.
ETI Bangladesh held kick-off meetings at the five factories between May and September 2026. The meetings brought together factory management, worker representatives, brand representatives and ETI Bangladesh to discuss the programmes, implementation process and expectations. More than 100 people took part in the meetings.
Participants discussed the baseline survey, training, worker engagement, workplace policies and mechanisms for addressing sexual harassment. They also raised the need for clear guidelines, training materials and management engagement during implementation.
The programmes will continue through training, worker engagement and support to strengthen workplace dialogue and gender-sensitive practices.
