Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Bangladesh marked World Day for Decent Work on 7 October 2026 through factory-level activities to promote workers’ rights, social dialogue and gender-responsive workplace safety.
The activities were organised with factories nominated by ETI member brands under its Workplace Programme. They aimed to strengthen engagement between workers and management and promote safe and inclusive workplaces.
Participating factories organised awareness sessions, rallies, meetings and human chains involving workers, management representatives, participation committees, safety committees and anti-harassment committee members. Public announcements and awareness materials developed by ETI Bangladesh highlightedworker rights, gender-based violence and harassment prevention, women’s empowerment and leadership development.
The activities provided opportunities for workers and management to discuss workplace challenges, strengthen grievance redressal mechanisms, and promote worker participation in decision-making.
The observance raised awareness of decent workplace issues especially gender-based violence and harassment prevention, highlighted the importance of worker participation and leadership development, and encouraged factories to strengthen policies on respectful workplace issues practices.
